Sarasota Hyatt Regency Wedding

October 21, 2017

LOCATIONS:

Hyatt Regency – Sarasota, Florida

Introduction:

Blair and Ben had planned an intimate wedding with their closest family and friends at the Hyatt Regency Keys Rooms in Sarasota, Florida. Everything was going to be happening in the one place, from the getting ready to the reception party, which meant we had plenty of time for photography throughout their special day.

Getting ready at the Hyatt Regency:

We began the day capturing Blair and Ben as they made their final preparations in separate suites at the Hyatt Regency Keys Rooms. We photographed Ben as he was getting ready in the bathroom mirror and grabbed a silhouette shot as he tried to figure out how to do his tie with the help of one of his groomsmen. We also took some details shots of the liquor he had gifted his groomsmen to say “thanks” for their support.

We then captured some casual shots of Ben and his groomsmen walking down a hallway at the Hyatt Regency Keys Rooms with beers in hand, then a creative, low-angle shot in the landscaped grounds. We also used the time available to grab some portraits of the groom alone, capturing a reflective, black and white shot in one of the hotel windows.

Meanwhile, Blair was in a suite making her final preparations, surrounded by her bridesmaids and mom. We captured candid shots as she had her her makeup done by the talented MaakeupSRQ (who had brought her own ring light to ensure Blair’s makeup was perfect for photography), as well as some details shots of her garter, jewelry and beautiful bouquet from the team at Bee Ridge Florists.

Then we grabbed a creative shot looking through the suite doorway as Blair slipped into her bridal gown and a candid as her bridesmaids helped to zip it up. We had plenty of time available for portraits of the beautiful bride in her naturally-lit suite, capturing close-up shots with her bouquet and classic portraits looking out the window. We got creative with the ring light to capture some dramatic portraits of the bride, as well as some candids as she shared this special moment with her mom and as her sister sprayed her with perfume.

Ceremony photos at Hyatt Regency Key Rooms:

It was then time for the ceremony to get underway, with Blair’s step-dad escorting her down the aisle to an expectant Ben and whispering a few words to the groom as he gave his daughter away. We photographed the ceremony proceedings from multiple angles, looking down the aisle as the couple exchanged vows and over the heads of their wedding guests. After being pronounced “husband and wife”, we also captured a dynamic kiss between the newlyweds in black and white.

Post-ceremony portraits at the Hyatt Regency Key Rooms:

Before the reception was to get underway, we had time for some bridal party and couple portraits in the landscaped gardens of the Hyatt Regency Key Rooms. We grabbed some beautiful shots of Blair with her bridesmaids in pink, then a shot of the couple kissing while their bridal party cheered on and a black and white as they walked through the gardens as a group.

We then moved onto the romantics, capturing intimate portraits of Blair and Ben in this loved-up moment and some reflective shots in a window of the Hyatt Regency Key Rooms. As dusk set in, we also headed down to the water for some dramatic couple portraits using off-camera flash and a romantic embrace along a tree-lined pathway.

Reception photos at the Hyatt Regency Boat House:

It was then time for the reception party to kick off, which was being held at the Hyatt Regency Boat House. We had snuck in earlier in the day to photograph the beautiful details and decorations from the team at All Events, with Teala Bundrum working her magic as the wedding coordinator.

We tried to capture all the energy of the dance floor as Blair and Ben celebrated with their family and friends, as well as their cake cutting ceremony as the groom fed his bride vanilla cake (she’s not a chocolate fan!) from the artists at Wonder Cake Creations. We also snuck outside with the newlyweds for five minutes for some dramatic nighttime portraits at the Hyatt Regency Key Rooms.

Conclusion:

We really want to thank Blair and Ben for selecting Fallbrook Photography to capture their beautiful wedding at the Hyatt Regency Key Rooms. They’re off to the Caribbean on a cruise for their honeymoon and we wish them all the best as they make the move to New York where Ben’s starting a new job on their return.
