Introduction:
Lisa and Jon were planning a really relaxed beachside wedding on Treasure Island in Florida, with the beautiful Bilmar Beach Resort their main venue. But while they’d both agreed to keep things really casual, they had a few surprises up their sleeves for each other, including Lisa wearing a gorgeous wedding dress for the event.
Getting ready photos at the Bilmar Beach Resort in Treasure Island:
We met up with the couple at the Bilmar Beach Resort and began the day capturing some casual portraits of Jon relaxing in the room and making some final preparations with his son who spends much of his time away with the military. We also used the time available to grab some shots of Jon with his groomsmen who were all wearing beige shorts and short-sleeved shirts to keep in with the laid-back beach theme.
Meanwhile, Lisa was getting ready in their spacious suite with the help of her bridesmaids and mom. The natural light was just perfect for photography and the suite had been beautifully renovated so that everything looked really stunning. In addition to some details shots of Lisa’s elegant jewelry, gorgeous bridal gown and floral bouquets, we captured some silhouettes of the bride admiring her dress.
Lisa’s bridesmaids then assisted as she slipped into her dress and we captured some black and whites as she shared in this special moment with her mom. We then got creative with our lighting to capture a few sophisticated portraits of Lisa reflected in her suite mirror and looking out across the waters of the Gulf of Mexico from her window.
Jon then surprised Lisa for a first look session that hadn’t been planned and the couple were both beaming at seeing one another in this special moment. We captured some intimate shots of them embracing in the hallway and reflected in the window before heading down to the grassy dunes of Bilmar Beach for bridal party portraits. In addition to some playful shots with her bridesmaids in their light blue dresses, we also captured whimsical portraits of Lisa in the long grasses, something that she had specifically requested.

Ceremony photos at the Rialto Theatre:
It was then time for Lisa and Jon’s wedding ceremony to begin, which was being held on the picture-perfect white sands of Bilmar beach resort on Treasure Island. We captured wide-angle shots looking across this stunning setting and close-up candids of their first kiss, followed by some bridal party and couple portraits.
The golden hour light beautifully illuminated Lisa and Jon as they looked out across the Gulf of Mexico waters and embraced in the long grasses lining the beach, then we captured some creative silhouettes backed by the setting sun. Tarah also grabbed a black and white of me in action photographing this Bilmar Beach sunset portrait session.

Reception Photos at the Bilmar Beach Resort:
Lisa and Jon kicked off their relaxed reception at the Bilmar Beach Resort with an intimate first dance, followed by their cake cutting of the beautiful creation by Carolynn Cakes. The reception decor was designed by wedding coordinator Tara DiGiacomo and had a rustic beach theme, with fire pits, twinkling lights and romantic lanterns, which provided the perfect setting for a night of dancing and socializing.

Conclusion:
We loved the opportunity to capture Lisa and Jon’s beach-themed wedding on Treasure Island and being part of such a relaxed and beautiful day. We wish them all the best in their married life together and hope these photos bring back warm memories of their time spent in Florida at the Bilmar Beach Resort.
