Introduction:
The weather was absolutely perfect for Julia and Juan Pablo’s wedding at the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota. They were bringing together 150 of their closest family and friends for the special day, which began at a gorgeous Airbnb and included a Catholic wedding ceremony at St. Martha’s Catholic Church.
Originally, the entire day was planned to be outside. But with bad weather forecast, they decided a couple of days before the wedding to move everything inside. Despite this, we still got to utilize the stunning gardens of this Sarasota wedding venue for romantics and bridal party portrait sessions.
Getting ready photos at a Airbnb in Sarasota
While Vince began the day photographing the guys as they made their final preparations at the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, Tara was with Julia and her bridesmaids at their Sarasota Airbnb. She captured shots of them enjoying this special moment in their floral robes and a candid as the bridesmaids assisted Julia into her wedding shoes.
After a black and white photo of Julia’s first look session with her dad, Tara captured some portraits of the bride in her beautiful Amare Couture gown. She grabbed a shot of Julia hiding behind her bouquet by Beneva Flowers and Plantscapes before photographing the bride as she made her final exit out the door.

After arriving at the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, Julia’s portrait session continued amidst the lush greenery of this Sarasota wedding venue. Ceremony photos at St Martha’s Catholic Church
Julia and Juan Pablo exchanged vows during a Catholic wedding ceremony at St. Martha’s Catholic Church, a high-vaulted house of worship in Sarasota. We captured the ceremony from multiple angles, including candid shots during communion and wide-angle photos looking down the aisle. After being pronounced “husband and wife”, the couple sealed their marriage with a kiss and made their recessional walk down the aisle.

We returned to the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens for romantic portraits of the couple in their loved-up, post-wed moment. Aside from classic embraces and special exchanges as the late-afternoon light ignited the gardens, we also got dramatic with the use of an off-camera flash.

Julia and Juan Pablo kicked off their wedding reception with a choreographed first dance, which was followed by speeches and toasts from those closest to them. We captured candid shots as the groom’s mom said a few words and another as his best man raised his glass for a toast before everyone hit the dance floor to celebrate.
