Introduction:
Our first wedding for the year was Katie and Matt’s special day at the Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast. It boasts a beautiful setting overlooking a canal and is run by really nice people who were there throughout the wedding day, ensuring the bride and groom were well taken care of.
We’d had the pleasure of getting to know Katie and Matt a few weeks previously during their engagement session, but we were excited to reconnect for their country wedding, with the sunny, warm weather just perfect for an outdoor celebration.
Getting ready photos at the Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast:
We began the day with some casual portraits of Matt inside the Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast, then outside in the landscaped gardens leaning up against the white picket fence. His groomsmen also joined him for some portraits on the grassy lawns and we also grabbed a shot of them strolling through the ceremonial site.
Meanwhile, Katie was getting ready in one of the spacious suites with her bridesmaids and niece, so we used the opportunity to capture some details shots of her gorgeous gown and elegant shoes. We also took some candid black and whites as she admired her wedding dress and played with her niece before her bridesmaids helped her into her dress.
Although the couple had decided against a first look, Katie did want a first look with her dad. We documented the emotional moment as he saw his first glimpse of his beautiful daughter, then used the time available for some portraits of Katie with her Flowers by Eddie bouquet.

It was then time for the wedding ceremony to get underway, with Katie and Matt exchanging vows beneath a sprawling tree on the lawns overlooking the river. We captured their intimate garden ceremony from multiple angles, including wide-angle shots looking down the aisle and up-close candids as they said “I do”.

After the ceremony, we captured portraits of the newlyweds in this loved up moment as they embraced in the gardens of the Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast. We mixed it up with some intimate black and whites, as well as some classic shots incorporating the venue’s white picket fence.
We also used the opportunity to capture some bridal party portraits, with the late afternoon light creating a really whimsical setting. In addition to photographing a creative shot of Katie leading her bridesmaids across the ceremony setting, we also grabbed a candid as Matt and his groomsmen checked out some photos on one of their phones.

The intimate reception was being held in the outdoor courtyard at Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast, with Katie and Matt kicking things off with their first dance under the Christmas lights. Then the party really got started, with DJ Steve from Grant Hemond doing a great job of getting everyone in the mood with a game of limbo.
