LOCATIONS:
Wedding and Reception Location: Powel Crosley Estate
Introduction:
We were back at the Powel Crosley Estate overlooking Sarasota Bay to capture the special day between Renee and Ryan who were planning a subtle nautical theme. It was a pleasure to work alongside the talented team at Affairs in the Air who provided the gorgeous decorations for what was a slightly wet but undeniably stunning wedding.
We’d had the opportunity to connect with Renee and Ryan to capture their engagement session in and around the Ringling Art Museum a few months back. They’d been drawn to not only our style of photography but also our story and we were excited that they selected Fallbrook Photography to document their love story at the Powel Crosley Estate.
Getting ready photos at the Powel Crosley Estate:
We began the day photographing both Renee and Ryan as they prepared in different suites at the Powel Crosley Estate, capturing creative shots through the window as the bride had the final touches applied to her makeup. We also grabbed some casual portraits of Ryan in the wood-paneled Ship Room and documented the beautiful jewelry, shoes and dress that Renee had chosen for her special day.
Once the bride was dressed and ready to go, we captured some portraits of her at the balcony window of her suite, with the natural light pouring in. We also grabbed a black and white to showcase the gorgeous details on the back of her dress and some up-close shots of the floral bouquets and boutonnieres created by Studio Q Floral Design.
Ceremony photos at the Powel Crosley Estate:
Although the rain was threatening outside, the wedding planner Laura Snow timed things just right and Renee walked down the aisle escorted by her two sons in the courtyard loggia of the Powel Crosley Estate. As she exchanged vows with Ryan, we documented their wedding ceremony from multiple angles, including a high-vantage birds eye view and looking through one of the windows of the mansion as Ryan put a ring on Renee’s finger.
Portraits at the Powel Crosley Estate:
After being officially pronounced “husband and wife” by their friend Scott, Renee and Ryan made their recessional walk down the aisle to be congratulated by family and friends. We used the time available before the reception was due to start for bridal party portraits beneath the ornate arches of the Powel Crosley Estate and romantics of the newly weds in this loved-up moment.
We had to work with the weather though, first staying under cover with a shot of Ryan dipping Renee in their beautiful reception venue before moving outdoors into the leafy gardens once the rain had subsided. We captured intimate portraits of the couple embracing on the garden walking trails and beside a reflective pool, as well as incorporating Sarasota Bay in the background.
Reception photos at the Powel Crosley Estate:
Unfortunately, the rain returned again and the couple’s first dance was moved inside, to be followed by speeches and toasts from those closest to them. But as is often the case, the rainy conditions resulted in an absolutely spectacular sunset, which we took full advantage of during another portrait session overlooking Sarasota Bay. We were also treated to a full rainbow over the Mediterranean Revival architecture of the Powel Crosley Estate and a pretty special backdrop during the garter removal.
Conclusion:
It was a pleasure to capture all the love and moments at Renee and Ryan’s Powel Crosley Estate wedding and we can’t thank them enough for selecting Fallbrook Photography. We wish them and their family all the best as they start this new chapter together and everything the future holds.
