Introduction:
Out-of-town couple Zoe and Brian had planned an intimate beachside wedding in Longboat Key with their closest family and friends. Unfortunately, the Florida weather didn’t live up to its warm reputation. It was overcast skies and stormy seas at The Resort at Longboat Key Club where they were having their special day. But it didn’t put a dampener on the love between the couple or the enthusiasm of their family and friends.
Getting ready photos at The Resort at Longboat Key Club:
We began the day with some portraits of the groom and his groomsmen on the white sands of Longboat Key, with the sun still peaking through at this stage. The guys had opted for grey suits and blue shirts, which fitted in perfectly with the relaxed beach wedding theme.
Meanwhile, Zoe and the girls were getting ready in one of the elegant suites of The Resort at Longboat Key Club. We captured creative candids as Zoe had the finishing touches done to her hair and makeup, as well as a black and white as she applied mascara in a hand-held mirror.
We then documented a special moment with her mom before using the time we had available to capture some portraits of the bride looking amazing with her Victoria Bloom bouquet. We photographed shots of her overlooking the Gulf of Mexico from her balcony and incorporating the ornate furnishings of her suite, then a cute one with her baby boy, Rory, who was the best man for the occasion.

It was then Rory’s big moment to lead the bridal party down the aisle, with Zoe escorted by her dad following close behind. We photographed Zoe and Brian’s nuptials from multiple angles, capturing some wide-angles looking out across their beach ceremony site and up-close candids as they exchanged vows and sealed their marriage with a kiss.

By this time it was getting quite chilly and the girls in particular were absolute troopers to weather it out for the beachside portraits. We captured a creative shot of Zoe leading her bridesmaids along the white sands and a playful shot of the newlyweds kissing while their bridal party celebrated around them.
It was then time for the romantics, with Zoe and Brian cozying up to stay warm as we captured intimate shots of them embracing and walking hand-in-hand along the sands. We grabbed some whimsical portraits of them looking into the distance and a tender black and white embrace, then headed inside to grab a shot of them lovingly kissing their baby boy together.

While Zoe and Brian’s wedding guests enjoyed a steak and seafood dinner inside The Resort at Longboat Key Club, we snuck out with the couple to capture a shot of them dancing in the middle of their reception tent. They were later joined by their wedding party who were definitely ready to celebrate, with the sandy dance floor packed the entire night thanks to the Bay Kings Band (who even learned a few special tunes at Zoe and Brian’s request).
We grabbed an action shot of Brian’s mom enjoying the dance floor and a playful shot of Zoe trying to feed her groom their Cakes by Ron wedding cake, as well as a cute shot of Rory surrounded by his mom and her bridesmaids. We also documented the stunning nighttime scene of Zoe and Brian’s reception tent, which was illuminated on the sands outside The Resort at Longboat Key Club
