Siesta Key Wedding – Heather & Karl

Wedding Location: Siesta Key Beach

Reception Location: Mattison’s Fourty-One

Introduction:

Heather and Karl both hail from Illinois (with the groom photographing show pigs as part of his job!) but were planning a relaxed, tropical-themed beach wedding in Siesta Key. Around 70 of their closest family and friends were going to join them for the occasion, based at the Tropical Beach Resorts.

While there was a little bit of rain when we first arrived, it soon cleared up, giving us blue skies for the portrait sessions and beautiful diffuse lighting for the wedding ceremony. This was followed by an intimate reception celebration at Mattison’s Forty-One Restaurant in the south of Sarasota.

Getting ready photos at Tropical Beach Resort

We began the day capturing some photos of Karl as he made his final preparations in a suite at Tropical Beach Resorts, including a black and white shot as he secured his bowtie in the bathroom mirror. We then headed outside for a casual portrait session with his groomsmen who also requested a shot with a wedding guest who wandered past in his board shorts.

After a couple more portraits of the groomsmen on the pathway leading down to the beach, we returned to the girls’ suite to document their getting ready moments. This included a shot of Heather and bridesmaids relaxing before getting dressed, as well as a black and white as they assisted the bride into her stunning Allure gown.

We utilized the time we had left for portraits of the beautiful bride against the shuttered windows of her hotel suite and a close-up as she secured her earrings. Heather’s dad then arrived for the father-daughter first look session, with the bride turning around to embrace him warmly.

After a black and white shot of the bride kissing her mom on the cheek, we headed outside to continue the portrait session in the gardens of Tropical Beach Resorts. We captured a reflective shot of the bride and her bridesmaids walking along a garden path with a puddle in the foreground, as well as some group shots on the path leading down to the white sandy beach.

It was then time for Heather and Karl’s first look session, which was followed by some warm embraces between the couple in this loved-up moment. We captured portraits of them surrounded by the tropical foliage of the resort and another as they walked arm-in-arm along a garden path.

Ceremony photos at Siesta Key Beach:

Heather and Karl’s beach wedding ceremony in Siesta Key began with the bride being escorted down the aisle by her father, which we captured with a creative shot looking through the heads of the wedding guests. The couple then exchanged personalized vows they’d written and their wedding rings, framed by a beautiful bridal arch designed by wedding planner Tina from Florida Sun Weddings.

After documenting their beach wedding ceremony from multiple angles, we photographed the couple’s recessional walk down the aisle as they celebrated their new union. This was followed by another portrait session on the sands of Siesta Key, including a romantic black and white of Heather leading Karl along the beach and another of their bridal party jumping into the air.

Reception photos at Mattison’s Forty-One:

Heather and Karl’s wedding reception was being held at Mattison’s Forty-One Restaurant in Sarasota and began with the couple’s grand entrance. This was followed by their romantic first dance as their bridal party and wedding guests watched on, then a tender father-daughter dance between Heather and her dad.

As everyone hit the dance floor, we used the opportunity for some details shots of Heather and Karl’s stunning wedding rings, then snuck outside for a short nighttime portrait session with the couple. We captured some off-camera flash shots of the newlyweds embracing outside the entrance to Mattison’s Forty-One, as well as a portrait of Karl dipping his bride.

Conclusion

We want to thank Heather and Karl for selecting Fallbrook Photography to capture their wedding in Siesta Key and hope they like this sneak peek. We also want to wish them all the best as they return to Illinois to start their married life together.
