Wedding at Lido Beach
Wedding and Reception Location: Sarasota, FL
Introduction:
Taylor and Josh are based out in Ohio but were planning a beach wedding on the white sands of Lido Key. As with most of our destination wedding couples, we met up at their venue a couple of months before their special day to go over the final details and wedding schedule.
While a handful of Taylor and Josh’s guests were from the Sarasota area, most were flying in from Ohio to celebrate the event. As Taylor was studying to be a nurse (and many of her friends were also nurses), we had an immediate connection as that’s also Tarah’s profession.
Getting ready photos at Ritz Carlton Sarasota and Lido Beach Resort:
While Taylor and her bridesmaids were getting ready at the gorgeous Ritz Carlton Sarasota, Josh and the boys were at the Lido Beach Resort making their final preparations. We captured some candid shots as they helped one another with their ties and slipped on their jackets, then grabbed some portraits of Josh on his hotel suite balcony and a black and white as he adjusted his cufflinks. We then headed down onto the sands just outside the Lido Beach Resort for some casual portraits of the guys, with a lot of light-hearted banter going on.
Meanwhile, Taylor was having the final touches applied to her makeup by the girls from Lili’s Weddings and we used the time available to capture details shots of her bridesmaids’ gifts and her gorgeous wedding dress by Allure draped over the Ritz Carlton Sarasota suite bed. We also grabbed some shots of the bride with her bridesmaids while enjoying a bottle of Martini & Rossi before Taylor stepped into her dress.
After a reflective portrait of the bride looking absolutely stunning in her wedding dress, we headed down to the elegant lobby of the Ritz Carlton Sarasota for some portraits beneath the chandeliers. We then took Taylor to a garden gazebo under the guise of capturing more portraits and had Josh surprise her for their first look session. Here we captured a black and white shot as he twirled his bride and another as he affectionately kissed her on the cheek, then walked down to the white sands just outside the hotel for some final portraits of the bride with her bridesmaids.

Wedding ceremony photos at Lido Beach:
Taylor and Josh were holding their wedding ceremony just a half mile down the beach from the Lido Beach Resort, so they jumped in an Uber for the short trip. It was ideal weather for a beach ceremony and the oceanside setting was perfectly complemented by the beautiful bridal arch created by Gulf Beach Weddings.
Taylor’s father escorted her down the aisle as her family and friends watched on before the couple exchanged vows backed by the Gulf of Mexico waters. After being pronounced “husband and wife”, the couple sealed their marriage with a kiss, then made their recessional walk down the aisle.

Post-ceremony portraits at Lido Beach
Josh in particular had wanted some photos on the beach after their wedding ceremony, so we captured a playful bridal party portrait of the couple jumping into the air with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. We also grabbed some romantic shots of Taylor and Josh as they walked hand-in-hand along the white sands and grabbed a creative silhouette in the late-afternoon light.
Unfortunately, the scheduling of the reception didn’t allow us to do a sunset shoot as the couple would have liked. Instead, we utilized a rustic bridge and greenery just back from the sands for some more romantics, with the golden light just perfect.

Reception photos at the Terrace at the Surf Shack
As the couple’s wedding reception got underway at the Terrace at the Surf Shack, we grabbed some details photos of the welcome table featuring a framed photo of Taylor and Josh. We also captured shots of the gifts they’d left for their wedding guests and their stunning, multi-tiered cake by Wonder Cake Creations.
Everyone was keen to celebrate, hitting the dance floor to party to the sounds of the Black Tie DJs. We captured candid shots as guests mingled on the dance floor and toasted to the newlyweds, as well as capturing a wide-angle shot looking across the alfresco, beachside setting.

Conclusion
