Wedding at Powel Crosley Estate – Taylor and Zach
Wedding and Reception Location: Sarasota, Florida
Introduction:
We first connected with Taylor and Zach during their Disney-themed engagement session at The Ringling Museum and were looking forward to catching up with them again for their wedding at the Powel Crosley Estate. Most weddings we’ve shot at this stunning Sarasota wedding venue have been held inside. But because Taylor and Zach had an extensive wedding guest list, everything was going to be outdoors, with the design by Anastasia Taylor of the Sarasota & Tampa wedding gallery.
They’d planned to once again incorporate their love of Disney and a few elements from the Tampa Bay Lightning (who the couple are big fans of), as well as having a couple of Christmas trees as the festive season approaches. Considering it was an outdoor wedding, we were incredibly lucky with the weather and treated to clear, blue skies the entire day and throughout the evening.
Getting ready photos at Powel Crosley Estate:
We began the day capturing photos of the couple getting ready in separate suites at the Powel Crosley Estate, including some portraits of Zach as he adjusted his suit jacket and bow tie. We grabbed some photos with his groomsmen and ring bearers in the gorgeous gardens of this Sarasota wedding venue, then captured a fun one of them jumping and showing off their multi-colored socks.
Taylor was busy getting ready in another suite with her bridesmaids and we documented the moments just after she stepped into her Allure wedding dress. We photographed her bridesmaids making some final adjustments to her hair and attire, then got creative with a silhouette shot incorporate the balcony door of the stunning Powel Crosley Estate bridal suite.
After some portraits of the bride looking radiant with her bouquet by Ms. Scarlette’s Flowers, we grabbed a creative bird’s eye view as she walked down the elegant staircase for a garden wedding photo session with her bridesmaids. We captured both classic and playful shots of the girls on the grassy lawns and backed by the beautiful string lights of the Powel Crosley Estate.

Ceremony photos at Powel Crosley Estate:
It was then time for Taylor and Zach’s wedding ceremony to get underway, which was being held overlooking the waterfront in the landscaped gardens of the Powel Crosley Estate. Zach’s dad, Robert Blagg, was officiating the event, making for a heartfelt and emotional wedding ceremony as they exchanged rings and vows. We captured a wide-angle shot looking across this gorgeous wedding ceremony venue with the lighting absolutely magical, as well as grabbing a black and white of the cute ring bearers holding their funny signs.

Post-Ceremony portraits at Powel Crosley Estate:
After their recessional walk down the aisle, we captured romantic portraits of Taylor and Zach in this loved-up moment. In addition to classic black and white shots, we got creative with some side-angle portraits on the garden paths of the Powel Crosley Estate. The light was fading fast, so we took advantage of our off-camera flash to capture some dusk portraits of the newlyweds overlooking the waters of Sarasota Bay, as well as utilizing the stunning string lights of their wedding reception site.

Reception photos at Powel Crosley Estate:
Taylor and Zach kicked off their wedding reception proceedings with a first dance on the terrace of the Powel Crosley Estate before a playful cake cutting ceremony. Usually it’s the bridesmaids who are super keen to get on the dance floor, but in this case, it was Zach’s groomsmenwho couldn’t wait to let loose!
We grabbed some action shots of the groom dancing, as well as his groomsmen trying to jump to reach the garter that had got caught in the chandelier hanging above. We also snuck away with the couple for some romantic nighttime portraits, incorporating an elegant arched doorway at the Powel Crosley Estate framed by their two Christmas trees.

Conclusion
It’s always a pleasure to photograph weddings at the Powel Crosley Estate and Taylor and Zach’s was no different.
