Introduction:
Shaina and Garrett had travelled all the way from Portland, Oregon for their rustic-inspired wedding at the beautiful Bird Island Lake Ranch in Dade City. It was an intimate day with just their closest family and friends and organized by the talented wedding planner, Casie Holloway.
Getting ready photos at Bird Island Lake Resort:
It was a perfect day with just a few scattered clouds in the sky when we turned up to photograph the couple as they made their final preparations. We captured a reflective black and white of Garrett fixing his tie in a mirror and a few casual portraits of the groom at the outdoor ceremony site before he was joined by his best man. These two close workmates were great sports in posing for a few relaxed shots in the stunning natural surrounds, as well as conversing at one of the beautifully laid-out reception tables.
We then turned our focus to Shaina who was getting ready in a charming barn adjacent to the ceremony site with her matron of honor and adorable daughter, Hailee. She was in good hands with the team at KyleLynn Wedding Hair and Makeup and we used the time available to capture some details shots of her gorgeous gown and the stunning florals by Kristyanna Galasso from Leaf It To Us.
We grabbed some black and white shots as Shaina’s matron of honor helped her slip into her wedding shoes and fixed her train, then captured some portraits of the bride looking radiant. In addition to classic portraits with her floral bouquet inside the barn, we also took some shots showcasing the beautiful details on the back of Shaina’s dress.
We then moved outside for some portraits of the bride beneath the Spanish moss-covered trees that surround the ceremony site of the Bird Island Lake Ranch before she was joined by her matron of honor and daughter for some more playful shots

It was then time for the wedding ceremony to get underway, withHailee leading the procession down the aisle holding a basket filled with flower petals. We documented Shaina and Garrett’s nuptials through wide-angle shots that encompassed the whimsical natural surrounds and those closest to them watching on.

The setting was just perfect for romantic portraits of the newly married couple, with stunning diffuse lighting coming through the sprawling trees. We photographed both close-up portraits and wide-angle shots of Shaina and Garrett embracing on the picturesque pathways, as well as a few beneath the Spanish moss as they looked lovingly into one another’s eyes.

Shaina and Garrett kicked off their reception proceedings with a first dance, followed by a relaxed reception under the stars. We documented their beautiful cake by Torrenna Powell backed by polaroid photos of the couple’s relationship, as well as grabbing some details shots of their wedding rings on a wooden log.

As dusk set in, we captured a few creative shots of the newly weds dancing in a field before their playful cake cutting ceremony. The night wrapped up with everyone on the dance floor to the sounds of DJ Grant Hemond, ending what had been a truly memorable day.
