Engagement – Katy & Caelan
Adventure Park – Bradenton, Florida
Introduction:
Katy and Caelan are planning to wed next February at Wandering Oaks, a rustic wedding venue in Myakka. But they wanted to celebrate their love during an engagement session that would capture a similar whimsical vibe and feel. So we decided to schedule in an e-session at the Greenbrook Adventure Park in Lakewood Ranch, with sprawling trees and gorgeous late-afternoon light.
Katy is actually the cousin of country music singer Luke Bryan and shares a similar love for music. She’s been involved in choirs all her life and loves listening to country music, as well as watching “Harry Potter”. Caelan, on the other hand, is a huge “Lord of the Rings” fan and can actually quote all three movies (the extended versions) in their entirety from start to finish!

Katy really wanted natural looking photos that they could use for their “save the dates”, as well as to keep as a memento of their love for many years to come. Caelan said he wanted “whatever makes Katy happy”, which is probably the right answer!
So we began their e-session in Lakewood Ranch by capturing some up-close shots as they embraced and became more comfortable in front of the camera. While Katy said she was somewhat comfortable being in front of the camera, Caelan felt less so, although you couldn’t tell as they just focused their attention on their love for one another.
As the late afternoon sun softened, we captured more wide-angle shots as the couple embraced beneath the leafy trees of the Greenbrook Adventure Park. We took advantage of a rustic wooden bridge for a shot of Caelan lifting Katy into the air, as well as looking straight towards the camera.
Sunset gave us the opportunity to get creative with some silhouette shots, as well as a few portraits of the couple looking out towards the horizon from a grassy field. In addition to some romantic black and whites, we also utilized our off-camera flash for a shot of Caelan twirling Katy.

It was a real pleasure getting to know Katy and Caelan during this relaxed e-session at Greenbrook Adventure Parkin Lakewood Ranch. They’re such an easy-going couple to work with and we’re looking forward to reconnecting for their wedding day next year at the gorgeous Wandering Oaks. Family owned and operated, this Myakka wedding venue features a canopy of majestic oak trees and a rustic-style pole barn, as well as wooden ceremony benches and Edison lights for a truly romantic atmosphere.
