Introduction:
Ohio-based couple Kristyn and Landon were planning an intimate wedding at the Sandbar Restaurant on Anna Maria Island and we were honored that they selected Fallbrook Photography to capture their special day. They wanted something fun and laidback with just their closest family and friends, with a stunning backdrop at Holmes Beach overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.
Getting ready photos at a beach house on Anna Maria Island:
The day began with getting ready photo as Kristyn made her final preparations in a gorgeous beach house on Anna Maria Island. Her makeup artist had flown down from Ohio with her and we captured candid shots as she made the final touches in a light-filled bathroom as Kristyn’s flower girl watched on.
We also grabbed some black and white shots of the bride admiring her flowing wedding dress as it hung from a fan in the lounge and a special moment with her mom, as well as a candid shot as she secured an anklet around her foot. Once Kristyn was dressed and ready to go, we used the time available for some portraits beside the French doors that overlooked the beach on Anna Maria Island, then stepped into the garden for some whimsical shots in the long grasses.

Ceremony photos at the Sandbar Restaurant:
It was then time for the wedding ceremony, which was taking place on the glistening white sands of Holmes Beach in front of the Sandbar Restaurant. Kristyn and Landon exchanged vows in front of around 20 of their closest family and friends, with Landon’s grandfather acting as their officiant.
We grabbed some wide-angles of their stunning destination beach wedding venue, as well as an up-close black and white photo as they paused to pray. After being officially pronounced “husband and wife”, we captured a fun group shot as the newly weds kissed while their wedding guests celebrated around them.

Couple Portraits on Anna Maria Island:
The juxtaposition of white sand and turquoise blue water on Anna Maria Island provided the perfect setting for romantic couple portraits of Kristyn and Landon. We captured shots of them walking hand-in-hand along Holmes Beach and embracing at their Sandbar Restaurant wedding ceremony venue, as well as some portraits of them looking out towards the sea from the grassy dunes behind.
As the sun began to sink towards the horizon, we grabbed some silhouettes of the couple embracing as the sky transformed behind them. We also used an off-camera flash to illuminate them as Landon lifted Kristyn into the air in the dunes of Anna Maria Island.
We ended the day with a fun candid shot as the couple smashed cake into each other’s faces as their beach wedding reception at the Sandbar Restaurant got underway.
