Introduction:
Amanda and Daniel were planning a traditional Jewish wedding at The Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club, surrounded by their family and friends. Daniel is both a veteran and Jewish and wanted to honor his cultural roots during the ceremony and reception celebrations.
Amanda had fallen in love with The Vinoy for its gorgeous backdrop, with tropical gardens and a romantic courtyard where their ceremony would take place. It was an incredible day filled with love and family as the couple was joined by their dog, Theodore, as they said “I do”.
Getting ready photos at the Vinoy Renaissance in Downtown St Pete
We began the day capturing a few exterior shots of The Vinoy before meeting up with the bride and groom as they prepared in separate suites. After grabbing a couple of reflective shots of Daniel getting ready with his groomsmen and dad, we captured an elevated shot as the guys walked down the stairs and into the lush gardens for a short portrait session. We also used the opportunity to grab a portrait of Daniel with Theodore who was dressed in a classy tuxedo and was being looked after by the team at FairyTail Pet Care.
Meanwhile, Amanda was with her seven bridesmaids and flower girl as they prepared for the wedding and we joined them once the bride was dressed and ready to go. Wearing a stunning dress by Enzoani, we captured a few shots of her showing off her engagement ring and standing in front of her suite window, with Theodore perfectly positioned on her bridal train.

Pre-ceremony portrait session at The Vinoy Renaissance
Once all the girls were ready, we headed downstairs for a pre-ceremony portrait session in the tropical gardens of The Vinoy. In addition to portraits of the bride holding her bouquet from For Better For Less, we also captured some bridal party portraits with Theodore in the foreground.
Amanda and Daniel had opted for a first look in the fountain courtyard of The Vinoy and we documented this loved-up moment as the groom admired his beautiful bride. After a portrait of the bride and groom with Theodore and a few romantics around the gardens, we captured a final bridal party portrait before the official proceedings got underway.

In true Jewish tradition, Amanda and Daniel’s celebrations began with a Tisch as the men gathered in a room to sign the marriage license and drink to the union that was about to take place. Amanda and the women gathered in another room for the Bedeken before the groom arrived to perform the official veiling of his bride.
A string quartet accompanied the bridal party as they made their way down the aisle, with Amanda and Daniel’s wedding ceremony held in the stunning garden courtyard of The Vinoy. We documented Theodore as he proudly lead the entourage and got creative with a shot of the wedding guests photographing the flower girl, then headed up onto a suite balcony to capture the ceremony from above.
After being given the blessing of Rabbi Jacob Luski, Amanda and Daniel sealed their marriage with a kiss and made their recessional walk as “husband and wife”. Although the light was fading fast, we managed to capture a couple of dramatically-lit nighttime portraits of the newlyweds outside The Vinoy before their reception was due to start.

Reception photos at The Vinoy Renaissance
Amanda and Daniel’s wedding reception was being held in one of The Vinoy’s elegant ballrooms, with a multi-tiered cake by Wonder Cake Creations a central feature. It was our first time photographing a Jewish wedding and we loved the festivity of the Horah as the couple’s family and friends gathered around them on the dance floor. Aside from photographing the bride being lifted above the dance floor on a chair and a groomsman pulling some moves, we also documented the couple’s cake-cutting ceremony.

Conclusion
It was such a pleasure to be selected as the St. Petersburg wedding photographer for Amanda and Daniel’s special day at The Vinoy and have the opportunity to capture our first Jewish wedding. We wish them all the happiness for whatever the future holds and hope they enjoy this sneak peek of what’s to come.
